Hidden instructions in files
A document can contain more than the text that is immediately visible on the page. Relevant content may also exist in document structure, metadata or other supported content layers.
More than visible text
Depending on the format, documents may contain comments, alternative text channels, metadata, low-visibility formatting or structured values that are not obvious during a quick visual review.
Why structure matters
When content is later extracted, transformed or supplied to an AI system, some of these layers may become part of the effective input. Reviewing supported document layers can therefore reveal signals that are easy to miss when looking only at visible text.
Coverage depends on the format
Not every file type exposes the same structures, and not every document layer can be inspected. Coverage reports what the scanner was able to inspect and helps distinguish "nothing found" from "not fully inspected".
What this does not mean
Hidden or low-visibility content is not automatically malicious. Comments, metadata and formatting can be legitimate. The purpose of a finding is to support review in context.
